Students queue up to answer questions from school staff.

- How are you doing? asks a teacher.

- I'm fine, one of the students replies.

- No sniff or sore throat?

So there it sounded before the school start on Monday morning at Järvaskolan this morning.

- We carry out extra health checks on our students every morning now. It is only to create security so that we know that we do not have anyone in the house who has any symptoms that can be quite alarming, says principal Helya Riazat, who herself checked whether children and staff had a fever.

Do not want to close school

She thinks that more schools should act preventively instead of waiting for a message if the school should close.

Both Denmark and Norway have closed schools due to the spread of the virus. But Sweden is waiting, which has created a debate about whether it is really safe or not.

Helya Riazat believes that a closure would have "devastating consequences".

- Our kids wouldn't have anywhere to go. Their custodians, many of whom work in health care and the elderly, would be forced to stay home with their children. This is something I want to avoid as far as possible.

The student Anisa Roble thinks it is good that everyone is checked, because then those who are ill can be sent home.

She was initially worried about the Corona virus, but it has gone down a bit.

- After all the information and everything the school has done, I am no longer there.

Abdullahi Hassan Adawe in grade nine believes media companies have inflated unease unnecessarily.

- You are one of the big sources for it being overstated, he says.

Some students were sent home

Principal Helya Riazat believes that the control issues regarding children's personal health must be asked.

- We find ourselves in a crisis situation and in a crisis situation we have to push the boundaries. If anyone wants to take it individually, you can of course do it. But so far we have not come across anyone who thinks it is difficult. Everyone understands that it is for the good of everyone.

When the lessons are about to start, four students have been told to go home. Two teachers have also reported sickness before the checks.
