The break is essential for Agnès Buzyn. The candidate invested by LREM for the municipal elections in Paris decided to stop her campaign on Monday without however withdrawing. She called on all of her party's running mates and activists to "stay at home," we learned from her team.
"Given the rapid deterioration of the health situation and the situation in hospitals, I stop the campaign of the second round," wrote the former Minister of Health in a letter. "She stops her campaign, that does not mean that she withdraws her candidacy," nuanced his entourage.
The candidate LREM came in third position with 18% of the votes, behind the outgoing mayor Anne Hidalgo (PS) who obtained nearly 30% of the votes and Rachida Dati (LR) at 22%.
