A plaque was installed on Michurinskaya Street on the house in which Alferov lived from 2001 to 2019.
It is noted that the initiator of the installation of the memorial plaque was the Zhores Alferov Foundation for the Support of Education and Science.
According to the administration of the Petrograd district of St. Petersburg, memorial tablets will also be installed at the Polytechnic University of Peter the Great and at the Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute.
Alferov died on the night of March 3, 2019 at the age of 88 years. He was buried in a cemetery in Komarov.
In September, as kp.ru reported, the name of Alferov was assigned to the St. Petersburg National Research Academic University of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
