Kasmandu, March 14th, China News Service. Colombo news: Sri Lanka added 5 new cases of locally confirmed Newcomer virus infection on the 14th, currently totaling 10 cases.

According to Sri Lanka's "Daily Mirror", 4 of these 5 new patients have recently returned to Sri Lanka from Italy.

The local media "News 1st" news website reported that the Sri Lankan government declared March 16 a public holiday to prevent the spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic; the police also announced that within 2 weeks from March 15th, Sri Lanka will ban any Activities involving large-scale crowds.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the president and the government are ready to respond to the epidemic. We can provide the medical and health facilities needed by the people without delay, and everyone need not panic.

According to the Sri Lankan media Hiru News, as of now, a total of 103 people have been treated in the hospital for suspected infection with the new crown virus, and another 1,660 people have been isolated at various centralized isolation points. (Finish)
