On March 13, an online post "Chinese neighbors delivering food and supplies for Chinese students" caused heated debate.

That night, Xiaoqiao (ID: qiaowangzhongguo) contacted Sun Wen, an Italian Chinese student in Milan, who was mentioned in the online post. She was still under "closing the city" and told reporters what happened.

Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the Italian government issued a decree on restricting travel of people nationwide on March 9th, which was formally implemented on the 10th. The law stipulates that local people must stay at home and cannot travel except for work, health, return home and other emergency reasons.

Sun Wen is a student at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.

Recalling what happened that day (12th), Sun Wen told Xiaoqiao that at first he heard the doorbell ring, because the people in the bedroom were all at home, so he didn't open the door.

Later, a roommate was about to go out. When he took something on the balcony, he heard the neighbor next to him shout, "I put some things in your doorway, let's take a look." My roommates and I felt very warm, because In addition to some of the items received, there is more difficult to buy disinfection water, Sun Wen said.

Sun Wen and her roommates were not only moved by this. They found a note on a pile of items. It says:

"Hallo! I'm your eldest sister next door. Our neighbors have been around for so long. All I know is that you are foreign students. In the country, you are the children held by your parents. You must take good care of yourself in a foreign country. You children have n’t bought enough food. I took something from my house for you. At this time, do n’t worry your relatives in China. Let ’s work together! ”

The note was also marked with brackets: "It's really hard for someone like me who has read only first grade in elementary school in China!" In addition, a Chinese flag is hand-painted on the lower right side of the note.

Sun Wen said that knowing that the neighbor was an overseas Chinese, he usually just said hello, and did not have deep contact. This time, he suddenly felt really warm when he received the "gift" from the neighbor.

"Several of us put food and supplies on the table, took pictures of each of them and sent them to our circle of friends. After being seen by our friends, we posted them on Weibo. We didn't expect so many people to pay attention."

Many netizens commented on Weibo, "It's too warm for our Chinese people to help each other outside!" "Really kind and lovely people", and netizens with emotion: Wherever Chinese people go, they can unite together to overcome difficulties!

Sun Wen was so moved that he and his roommates were particularly moved to feel the warmth from their compatriots in a foreign country. To pay tribute, a roommate from Sun Wen also sent a thank-you letter to his neighbor.

Regarding the local epidemic in Milan, Sun Wen said that since the Italian Prime Minister Conte signed the national red quarantine decree on March 9, all local public facilities have been closed and all kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and universities have been suspended. Supermarkets will queue up. More and more people wear masks locally, and everyone consciously reduces going out.

Sun Wen introduced that the local Chinese students in Milan have a strong sense of self-protection. They pay close attention to the progress of the epidemic every day. They have stocked food in their homes and will not go out without special circumstances. After the epidemic broke out, the impact of school closures was still quite large, and home-based online lessons at school became roommates' daily routine.

In terms of life, Sun Wen told Xiaoqiao (ID: qiaowangzhongguo) that under the influence of the "City Closing" Act, people try not to go out and choose home delivery services. Because of this, online express delivery is currently relatively tense, and takeaways take longer.

At 18:00 local time on March 13, Angelo Borelli, head of the Italian Civil Defense Department and Commissioner of the New Crown Virus Emergency Committee, said at a routine news conference that the country has confirmed a total of 17,660 new crown pneumonia cases and existing cases. There were 14,955 cases, including 1328 cases of critically ill patients; a total of 1439 people were cured; 250 new deaths and a total of 1266 deaths.

Although the current epidemic situation in Italy is relatively serious, Sun Wen and her roommate said that they have no plans to return to China for the time being because there are still many things to be done in work and study. "Even if we return to China, we will not wait too long after the Italian epidemic is over," Sun Wen said.
