SMHI warns of winds of up to 28 meters per second in conjunction with rain. The weather warning means that traffic is suspended from 9am on Thursday morning until 5am on Friday morning.

Before train traffic can get started, all distances will be checked and any errors corrected.

"We are making this decision to ensure that no trains are left standing with passengers and that travelers can plan their journey in another way as early as possible," says Göran Holmberg at the Traffic Unit in Malmö, in a press release.

The distances affected are:

Easter train between:

Malmö - Ystad / Simrishamn

Helsingborg - Förslöv / Halmstad. The Öresund trains make extra stops in Barkåkra and Förslöv

Eslov - Helsingborg

Øresund trains between:

Helsingborg - Angelholm

Replacement buses will run on the following routes:

Helsingborg - Angelholm

Simrishamn - Ystad

Helsingborg C - Eslov

Buses will also run in shuttle services between Malmö Hyllie and Ystad. All buses go via the intermediate stations.

Continued high water levels

In connection with severe winds, the water level is expected to rise in both Kattegatt and Öresund. The wind is expected to be westerly.

- Classically, western Skåne is hit hardest and most often it will be a fairly narrow stretch where the wind bands end up, says Per Stenborg, meteorologist at SVT.

In Skåne, Kalmar and Blekinge counties, class 2 warnings remain for high water flows.

- It's been there since the February rain. There will be some rain today and also on Thursday, so there may be even higher flows, says Per Stenborg.
