The Kuwaiti Council of Ministers announced a two-week official holiday that starts tomorrow, March 12th, and will start on Sunday, March 29.

The council revealed the suspension of commercial flights from Friday until further notice, and limited them to Kuwaitis and their relatives.

The government spokesman, Tariq Al-Muzarem, denied what is being circulated on social media on imposing a curfew in the country, noting that the cabinet session is in session and has not ended yet, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai.

Al-Muzram indicated that a press conference was held to present the decisions taken, calling on everyone to be accurate and not to spread rumors.

He added that the Council of Ministers decided to prevent the presence in all halls of restaurants and cafes, including inside shopping centers, as well as the closure of clubs and private health institutes. He explained that the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs was assigned to warn of the dangers of gatherings and raise awareness of the precautionary measures necessary to avoid the causes of infection in mosques and places of worship, taking into account the exceptional circumstances. He referred to assigning the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the concerned authorities to issue a decision on the rules and procedures necessary for the organization of the entities whose work is necessary for the functioning and regularity of their public facilities.
