The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi directed all hotels and tourist facilities to refrain from providing hookah in all facilities immediately and urgently, as part of the precautionary measures to confront the Corona virus (Covid 19). She said in a circular issued yesterday, and "Emirates Today" obtained a copy of it, that all hotel establishments will be searched, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, to verify the commitment to refrain from providing the hookah, warning that the violating establishments will be subject to the legal procedures provided for in the legislation in force.
In addition, the Director of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanum Gebrysos, declared that "the (Corona virus) can be classified as a global pandemic", explaining that "the number of cases outside China has increased by 13 times during the past two weeks." He added during a press conference yesterday: "We are very concerned about the levels of prevalence and the levels of not taking the (necessary) measures, so we reached an assessment that (Covid-19 - Corona virus) can be classified as an epidemic."
