The UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution welcoming the agreement between the United States of America and the Taliban, while the Afghan President signed a decree requiring the release of 1,500 movement detainees.

On Tuesday, the Security Council expressed support for the peace agreement signed by the US government and the Taliban movement in the Qatari capital, Doha, on February 29.

The agreement stipulated that foreign forces would leave Afghanistan within 14 months in exchange for security guarantees from the Taliban.

The Council expressed its readiness to review the sanctions imposed on the Taliban when negotiations began between the Afghan parties.

The decision indicated that the Taliban's actions would influence the review, "including its commitment to reduce violence, and its continued efforts to advance negotiations between Afghans."

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Afghan presidency, Siddiq Siddiqui, said that Afghanistan is ready to start the withdrawal of American forces from the country, and that President Ashraf Ghani had previously informed US President Donald Trump of this.

My friend added to the island that 90% of the security operations are now being carried out by Afghan forces.

Presidential decree
My friend also stated that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani signed a decision to pardon Taliban detainees, and that the government would work to release 1,500 within four days as a gesture of goodwill.

He made it clear that the government would release an additional 500 prisoners when negotiations begin with the Taliban.

The release will start from next Saturday, at a time when the remaining 3,500 will be released after the start of negotiations between the Kabul government and the Taliban.

The decree stipulated that all released Taliban prisoners must be presented
"A written declaration not to return to the battlefield."

The agreement signed in Doha also requires that Kabul release five thousand Taliban prisoners, and in return the Taliban will release prisoners of their government forces.
