The Ministry of Defense spoke about the flight of Tu-142 over the waters of the Chukchi Sea

As noted in the department, the flight was planned.

“The flight of the Tu-142 aircraft of the Russian Navy was carried out in strict accordance with the International Rules for the Use of Airspace,” TASS reports.

It is indicated that at certain stages of the route, Russian planes accompanied the US Air Force F-22 and F-18 fighters.

Earlier in the command of the aerospace defense of North America (NORAD) said that the American fighter F-22 and CF-18 escorted two Russian Tu-142 in the Alaska area.
