March 10, 2020 Malta has suspended passenger connections with Italy, air and naval. The decision, taken as a consequence of the Italian measures, was communicated overnight by the Prime Minister, Robert Abela, in a press conference in which he also announced a fourth positivity to the virus on the island, after that of an Italian family returned from Trentino.

Over 9 thousand Italian residents live on the island, to which must be added at least another 15 thousand for work, study or tourism.

The Maltese Prime Minister specified that passengers cannot travel to and from Italy for tonight, for any reason.

The catamarans of the fast naval connection with Pozzallo, in Sicily (about an hour and a half trip), will be used only to ensure the regular flow of supplies of medicines, food and goods.

In the night press conference Abela specified that the Maltese government will meet this morning and decide how to assist the dozens of Maltese currently blocked in Italy.

At the entrance of all healthcare facilities, everyone's access is filtered: anyone who has recently visited a country in a list of 22, therefore not only Italy, must wear a mask and is informed of the "opportunity" of take the test.

London advises against Morocco
The British government advises against all travel to Italy except in cases of extreme necessity and arranges for quarantine for those arriving from our country, even in the absence of any symptoms whatsoever. Morocco has also suspended travel to and from Italy. while in Israel, anyone arriving in the country will have to observe a two-week quarantine, in order to avoid the spread of the coronavirus, including all members of the same government. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself announced this in a televised speech to the nation
