The service should partly be given a new tone specifically for those with symptoms that are consistent with the effects of the coronavirus. The investment will enable people seeking care to receive faster assistance.

- A national line will be introduced specifically for medical advice for the coronavirus. This is done to counter queue formation in individual regions, says Lisa Adolphsson, press officer at 1177 National Health Guide.

The button selection has been available since the end of February when calling 1177 Region Stockholm, which has a different subcontractor than other regions. But now it is also being introduced at the national level.

The pressure of 1177 varies from region to region and also from time to time. But one of the reasons for the increased burden is the number of worried people who call in to get more information, which becomes extra noticeable after, for example, a news broadcast, explains Lisa Adolphsson.

Therefore, an additional tone selection will be introduced that directly links to the information line. This venture is brand new for all regions.
