It was during the night of February 6 that police were alerted to Volvo's personnel parking in Torslanda. An explosion had occurred.

"A car has been attacked, or blasted for natural reasons, you never know, but we don't really think so," said Johan Ljung, a police officer in the West Region, at the time.

Detonated on purpose

Very accurately, a person had deliberately detonated an explosive charge - something that later emerged from Volvo's own surveillance cameras at the parking lot. The police initially did not want to share the photos, but now choose to go out with them. This in the hope of moving on in the investigation and arresting a perpetrator.

- Does anyone have any tips about this event, we want to know. If you recognize the car or person, you should contact the police, says Ben Wahlin, police inspector of the Major Crimes Division in Greater Gothenburg.

Ben Wahlin tells us that every stone was turned and turned without success. It was initially believed that the culprits chose the wrong car, since the owner of the car - a Volvo employee in his 50s - had no obvious threat to him. You no longer believe that.

Traces have been followed that lead to organized crime, but have reached a dead end.

- We have had blasts in stairwells and such, and in all such situations you get the answer from the one who has been hit. But in this case we haven't got it, says Ben Wahlin.

Powerful as a hand grenade

The explosive device was a more powerful type of banger.

- Many people think that a banger is quite timid, but it is not. There is quite a lot of gunpowder in them, compared to a hand grenade they stand just as much.

If you have information about the incident, you should contact the police on 114 14.
