In terms of different countries, in addition to the continued growth in trade with countries and regions along the ASEAN and the “Belt and Road” in January-February, China ’s bilateral trade with major trading partners such as the European Union, the United States, and Japan all declined by more than 10%. The relevant person in charge of the General Administration of Customs said that the decline in foreign trade imports and exports was mainly due to factors such as the new crown pneumonia epidemic and the extension of the Spring Festival holiday.

The person in charge said that although the new crown pneumonia epidemic has caused a certain impact on foreign trade imports and exports in the short term, China's foreign trade development is highly resilient, and enterprises have strong adaptability and market development capabilities. Customs monitoring showed that the value of foreign trade imports and exports had risen gradually in February, and the number of declarations submitted by enterprises had also increased gradually. According to the customs investigation of 2,552 foreign trade sample enterprises, 80.6% of them have resumed work.

The person in charge said that with the positive effects of epidemic prevention and control and the gradual implementation of various policies and measures, the pace of resumption and production of foreign trade companies has accelerated, and market confidence is also steadily restored. "The impact of the epidemic on import and export is temporary and phased, and the long-term trend of foreign trade development has not changed." (End)
