Among the 16 people who died, there are "11 men and five women, including 12 people over the age of 70 and each time with numerous underlying comorbidities", according to Jérôme Salomon.
An "inevitable" stage 3
Despite this increase in victims, he assured that France remained at stage 2 of infection management, while describing stage 3 as "inevitable".
