Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to the head of Peru, Martin Alberto Viscarre Cornejo, in connection with the death of de Cuellar.

The Peruvian diplomat, who served as UN Secretary General in 1982-1991, died on March 5 at the age of 100.
