Like the first person in Gävleborg who on Thursday was confirmed to be infected by the virus, so the second person also got the infection in the same area in northern Italy.
The other infected person is cared for in an infectious ward and has a mild illness, says Region Gävleborg's infection control physician Signar Mäkitalo.
- There is no risk of further spread of the infection, the person has done everything right and avoided social contacts, says Signar Mäkitalo in a press release.
Healthcare has carried out contact tracking and taken care of the person according to current routines, states Gävleborg Region which does not specify which hospital the person is cared for.
