Prosecutors and other retirement age extension bills are not approved

The Liberal Democratic Party's General Affairs Council was wary of a series of cautious opinions on a bill to raise the retirement age of prosecutors and others scheduled to be submitted to the Diet.

The government plans to submit a bill to the parliament next week to raise the retirement age of prosecutors to 65, in line with the gradual retirement of national public officials.

Prior to this, the bill was examined at the Liberal Democratic Party's General Affairs Council. Cautious opinions and so on.

As a result, the bill was rejected and will be discussed again at the General Affairs Council next week.

At a press conference, Chairman Suzuki said, "Despite the need for careful explanation of the prosecutor, the debate has been carried over without controversy. I hope to accept it next time."
