Nik Wallenda, a famous American tightrope walker, accomplished "the boldest feat of his life", passing over the erupting volcano Masaya, Nicaragua.

The volcano is 635 meters high, the distance to be covered on the rope was 550 meters and the equilibrist took 31 minutes to go from one bank to the other. The width of the rope was 2.54 centimeters.

For safety reasons, due to the harmful fumes from the volcano, Wallenda had to wear protective goggles and a respirator.
