Al Shamsi periodically launches campaigns to raise awareness of the means to protect the marine environment, with the participation of community members and school students, and urges everyone to remove waste and barbecue residues, and to protect the sea from pollution.

Al-Shamsi is a study to specialize in “Cellular and Molecular Biology”, and knows the extent of the impact of negative pollution on the marine environment, and future residents of the region.

Al-Shamsi explained to «Emirates Today»: “What motivated her to serve the sea are the violations against his living creatures.” She added: “Throwing bags into the sea affects not only the environment, but also the engines of fishing boats.”

Al-Shamsi called on the sea goers, who throw bags and their other non-degradable waste inside the beaches, to "bear in mind that the fish and marine life will devour them."

She emphasized that "preserving the environment is everyone's responsibility, and that it has started organizing campaigns to confront behaviors harmful to the environment, and has launched several community initiatives in this direction."

Al-Shamsi said: “Her initiatives found a great turnout from people, which encouraged her to cooperate with the Fujairah Adventure Center, with the aim of organizing campaigns to clean the beaches of the profitable area, and urged the students of the village school for basic education to participate in it, in addition to making them aware of the importance of maintaining clean beaches.”

She stated that she “started work, last October, by focusing on the importance of preserving the marine environment, because of its impact on biological diversity,” noting a campaign she launched under the slogan “My Environment - My Responsibility” to educate students and parents about the importance of preserving the environment, by organizing activities Dedicated to them to know their role in the environment.

The initiative included a video presentation to raise awareness and grow a coral reef with the participation of 100 students.

Al-Shamsi continued, “She carried out student visits to the Maritime Museum in a profitable port, and conducted interviews with area fishermen to educate students about the importance of leaving the place clean when visiting the beach.”
