Derichebourg, Safran, Securitas France, Go Sport ... The Minister of Labor Muriel Pénicaud denounced Thursday the companies bad students of gender equality, a year after the establishment of the professional equality index.

"Nineteen companies were in 2019 below the score of 75 (out of 100) and still are, it is they who have not acted on the subject", regretted Ms. Pénicaud in an interview with Parisien, about companies with more than 1,000 employees concerned for one year by this index.

She cited Derichebourg (note 62) but also Alsace Croisières CroisiEurope (51), Ufifrance Patrimoine (57), Hager electro SAS Obernai (64), Safran Electronics and Defense cockpit solutions (64), Circet (66), Foncia quarries and skills (66) and Securitas France (66).

Go Sport is also singled out, but without any note.

"These companies will be contacted in the coming days by the Directorate General of Labor who will remind them of the law," said Ms. Pénicaud, recalling that "if in two years they keep this bad rating, they face a fine which equals 1% of the payroll each year. "

The Ministry of Labor is due to publish the note for the 1,200 largest companies in France on Friday, she said, assuring that 55 companies obtained the scores of 99 or 100, compared to 36 a year ago. Among the most beautiful progressions, Mme Pénicaud cited Orange, Maif, Nocibé or La Française des jeux.

Optimistic, she estimated that "the momentum has started" and underlined that "the average overall score of large companies has gone from 83 to 87". "It is encouraging, it is already changing the lives of women but there is still a lot to do," she said.

After large companies, the index of professional equality between women and men now applies to companies with 50 to 250 employees who were to publish it on Sunday.

In France, women are paid on average, all positions combined, 25% less than men. At equal post and age, the difference is 9%, while the principle "for equal work, equal pay" has been written into law since 1972.
