According to British Columbia Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, the latest case is a woman in her 80s who has recently returned from a trip to India and Hong Kong, China.
Henry said the woman had a serious illness and was currently in isolation in the intensive care unit of the Vancouver General Hospital in critical condition.
The 34 new cases of neonatal pneumonia diagnosed in Canada include 20 in Ontario, 13 in British Columbia, and 1 in Quebec.
