The Department of Education and Knowledge stated that the subjects that students must study during the "distance education" period will depend on the requirements of the curricula adopted by each school, "however, the schools will have to cover the basic subjects that include Arabic, mathematics, science, and English" .

The department announced that no internal tests would be taken in Asian private schools operating in the emirate, as previously planned. She said that schools should consider Thursday (yesterday), the last day of school, and calculate students ’grades accordingly, noting that they will work with schools to ensure that students preparing for external examinations are not affected during this period.

The department also affirmed that "there is no right for students' families to recover any fees after announcing the closure of the school," which will last for four weeks.

She added that «schools will continue to provide education services during the holiday, in line with their academic plans», pointing to the development of a distance education plan that includes support for students.

The department indicated that "the relevant health authorities will assess the situation continuously during the holiday, and students and their families will be informed of decisions related to this matter," noting that returning to schools after the closing period will be safe.

She stressed that the information should be kept up-to-date, immediately upon the issuance of any decision related to this matter, calling on the students ’families to follow up on their official accounts in order to keep abreast of the developments.

He had decided to extend the school spring break, starting from March 8 to 19.

The department said that schools will launch the distance learning process for students starting from March 22, urging parents to support their children during this period, and encourage them to communicate continuously with schools to follow their educational career.

On the way schools provide distance education for students, she pointed out that there are differences between schools in the ways to present their educational curricula, because each school has its own plans to implement the distance education process, indicating that it will work during the next two weeks with schools to provide additional educational resources for students when needed.

Scholarships abroad

The Department of Education and Knowledge said that it continues to be informed of the conditions of students on scholarships to study abroad, and is in constant contact with them.

She emphasized providing them with the educational materials necessary to maintain their safety, in addition to the support provided by the guides, and it is also coordinating with the relevant cultural attachés and universities to return them to their homeland, if the need arises.

She added that she provided them with a special phone number to communicate with, and urged students to follow the medical advice provided by the university to them, and to communicate with the embassy of the country in the country of study, if necessary.

The department called on students to make sure of the information received by them, and to extract information from official health sources.
