According to the latest daily report of the situation of the new crown pneumonia released by the World Health Organization (WHO) on the 4th, as of 10:00 am Central European Time (17:00 Beijing time), there were a total of 76 outside China. The country confirmed 12,668 new coronary pneumonia cases and 214 deaths.

WHO warns that the global supply of personal protective equipment is disrupted and the situation is getting worse due to surge in demand, panic purchases, hoarding and abuse.

Since the start of the coronavirus disease epidemic in 2019, the price of surgical masks has increased fivefold, the price of N95 masks has tripled, and the price of protective clothing has doubled.

WHO estimates that to meet increasing global demand, manufacturing must increase output by 40%. Governments should develop incentives to encourage manufacturing to increase output. This includes relaxing export and distribution restrictions on personal protective equipment and other medical supplies.

WHO says guidance is provided daily to support secure supply chains and to provide critical equipment to countries in need.
