Alert to face Corona ... deaths in Italy and Iraq, and new infections in India, Britain, and Algeria

Italy and Iraq announced new deaths from the new Coruna virus, and infections rose in India, Britain, Algeria and the United States, while a slight decrease in infections was recorded in China, the focus of the virus.

The Italian Civil Protection Agency said on Wednesday that the number of deaths resulting from the spread of the Corona virus in the country reached 28 cases during the past 24 hours to reach 107, with little indication of the slowing of the spread of the disease.

The cumulative number of cases in Italy - the most affected by the virus in Europe - rose to about 3,090 from 2502 on Tuesday. The agency chief said 276 of those who were already infected with the virus had fully recovered, compared to 160 the previous day.

In Iraq, the health authorities announced the death of two people due to the virus, one in the Kurdistan region and the second in the capital, Baghdad, and recorded more than 30 cases of the virus, including the cases of 30 Iraqis returning from Iran, according to a spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Health.

On the other hand, the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Wednesday that the number of Corona virus cases in the United States reached 129, while nine people have died of the virus in America until now.

In Britain, Ministry of Health figures showed that the number of confirmed cases rose to 85, in the biggest daily jump since the virus appeared in the country.

The number of injured people in India has also increased sharply, to 29, including 16 Italian tourists and an employee of a financial payment company who had traveled to Italy.

In turn, the Algerian Ministry of Health confirmed the emergence of nine new cases of the virus, which raises the total number of people who have tested positive for the virus inside the country to 17. The cases include 16 from one family in Blida (about 40 km west of Algiers) in addition to an Italian man.

The Saudi Ministry of Health also announced the monitoring of the second case of coronavirus infection of a citizen who had returned from Iran via Bahrain. A statement said that the Saudi citizen "did not disclose at the Saudi porter his presence in Iran, and he was accompanying to travel with the first case previously announced."

Northern Ireland health authorities announced the monitoring of two new cases, bringing the number of injured there to three. In Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the authorities had detected the first two cases of HIV infection for Iranian students.

He also announced the first injuries in Poland, Argentina, Chile and Gibraltar, as well as within European institutions in Brussels with the injury of employees.

In contrast to the continued spread of the virus around the world, a slowdown was recorded in the two countries most affected by it, China and South Korea.

In China, where the virus appeared last December and caused the death of 2,981 people, quarantine remains imposed on 56 million people in Hubei, the epicenter of the epidemic, while the number of new infections has declined for the third day in a row.

However, China now fears new infections among returning citizens from abroad, after counting at least 13 injuries in recent days among returning Chinese, eight of whom visited Italy, which ranks the third highest in the world after China and South Korea.

In the face of the steady spread of the virus, Italy announced the closure of schools for two weeks, the storage of medical masks and the cancellation of activities in bulk in measures that reflect countries' concerns about the spread of Corona, which caused a state of panic in the world and weighs on the global economy.

Within weeks, stockpiles of individual protective equipment to prevent disease were "rapidly running out" in the world, threatening the ability of countries to respond due to the serious and growing chaos of individual protection equipment supply lines at the global level.

The French government plans to seize the stock of medical respirators, according to a decree issued on Wednesday. France, which has counted four deaths so far and more than 200 confirmed cases, is one of the main epidemics in Europe after Italy.

The German government announced on Wednesday that the world is facing a "global epidemic" with the outbreak of the Corona virus, stressing that it is looking at the situation "very seriously" with the increasing number of infections continuously. On the other hand, the Israeli army announced the postponement of a planned visit of its chief of staff, General Aviv Kochavi, to the United States, against the backdrop of the outbreak of the Coronavirus, which has so far spread in 81 countries, infected 95,000 people and caused 3,200 deaths, according to the latest figures.
