“People’s Deputy of Ukraine Alexander Dubinsky and lawyer Tatyana Kostina handed over to the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov materials regarding the facts of possible surveillance in Ukraine of US officials,” the statement said.

It is noted that the Ukrainian police are conducting a pre-trial investigation under the article on violation of confidentiality of correspondence and telephone conversations in relation to state and public figures. The materials received are attached to this case.

The report said that the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs "will act exclusively in the legal field together with the relevant law enforcement agencies of the United States, ensuring non-interference in internal political processes in the United States," as it "understands the importance of this topic for relations between Ukraine and the United States."

In January, two cases were opened in Ukraine due to possible surveillance of ex-US ambassador Marie Jovanovic.
