It was at 19.30 on Tuesday evening that a motorist drove in the wrong direction and collided with another car in a southbound direction on Yttre Ringvägen in Malmö.
"When the police arrived, the driver who was driving in the wrong direction had departed on foot, and we are still at the scene," said Richard Lundqvist at the police's command center.
Traffic was initially stopped at the scene and according to the police, no person was injured in the incident.
