Apple has sent care packages that include an iPad device, face masks, hand sanitizer and other items, to its stranded employees in Wenzhou and Hubei due to the Coronavirus, according to news from the Chinese social network Weibo.

While more than half of Apple's stores have reopened in short working hours in China, many retail and corporate employees are still at home, and families that received care packages have been affected by the distinctive gesture from Apple.

It released a message that was included with each package stating that iPads are being sent to teach children online, or to help spend time during "long stays at home".

"My dear colleagues in Hubei and Wenzhou, we hope that this observation will find you healthy and in good health, and we hope that you will remain strong in this difficult time, as we understand the difficulties you are facing and we would like to provide the best support to you and your families," he said.

"We send our best wishes to you, on behalf of the entire Apple team, with a help bag for you and your families. In this group, you will find comfort items from iPad that can be used to facilitate children's learning online or to help spend time during extended stay at home."

"In addition, a series of special advisory services has been prepared for you to assist you at this time," the letter said.

Hubei and Wuhan were badly hit by the spread of the Coronavirus, which has killed 2,835 people in China.

And at Apple's annual shareholders meeting on February 26, CEO Tim Cook called for prioritizing health and safety among employees amid the outbreak challenges.

And last month, Tim Cook outlined plans to donate to the corona relief effort in China.

When Apple announced in February that it would not reach its revenue targets this March, Cook said the company would increase its donation.

Apple's share price has fluctuated in recent days due to the Corona virus, which caused uncertainty in global markets.
