His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the Department of Housing in the emirate to build a government residence for the second wife and her children in some cases, so that this is not available to all "second families", or to everyone who marries two wives, but rather According to certain conditions and only for specific cases, and the extent of the eligibility of this second wife and her children to obtain that housing through a request submitted by the family to the Housing Department and proven carefully, according to what was mentioned by the head of the Housing Department in Sharjah, member of the Emirate’s Executive Council, Engineer Khalifa Musabih Al Tunaiji.

He added that if the man married to two women obtains a government residence, the department will build another residence for the other wife who does not reside in that government house written in the name of the husband and obtained from the department, whether that is the first or second wife, provided that the new residence is registered in her name And the name of her children, in order to achieve family stability, and for the new home to be a pillar of stability and prevent disputes and quarrels between the two wives and children. Stressing that this matter is subject to many controls and not available to all families.

Al-Tunaiji explained that in some cases, the head of the family who obtained a government residence from the department inhabits the first and second wives together in one house or housing one of them without the other, which results in large family disputes and quarrels between the two wives and their children, which requires additional housing for the family. To prevent these spats from occurring.

He continued that there are social cases that come to the Department of Housing in which the husband, upon receiving the government house, married a new woman and left his wife and children in a small house with rent and other cases, indicating that if this is proven, the house is written in the name of the husband, the first wife and the children together.

Al-Tunaiji said that “His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah is aware of the needs of such a group and seeks the conditions of his daughters, citizens and their sons, and aware of their housing needs. Therefore, His Highness quickly issued directives to provide housing for this group to provide decent livelihoods and stability factors for the citizenship family and achieve a decent life for them.”

It should be noted that the department provided housing assistance to a husband who was married to only one woman before.
