Donations to the Qatari "Haq Al-Sham" campaign reached nearly 150 million riyals (about 41 million dollars) in support of the displaced Syrians within two days.

Qatar Charity announced on its account on the social networking site Twitter, that donations amounted to 149,035,781 Qatari riyals (about 41 million dollars), in the campaign that started last Friday and continued until Saturday evening, under the auspices of official television and government agencies in Qatar.

Qatar Charity revealed that this campaign - in which more than 30,000 donors participated in two days - will benefit more than 185 thousand displaced people.

Qatari citizens, residents and local institutions donated live through the live broadcast of television and a number of Qatari radio and satellite channels.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for the campaign donated 50 million Qatari riyals ($ 14 million).

The "Haq Al-Sham" campaign launched by the Qatar Charity Association aims to assist 250,000 refugees and displaced Syrians, and includes the areas of shelter, food aid, water and health.

According to United Nations estimates, more than 900,000 people, 80% of them women and children, have been displaced since December 2019, marking the largest wave of displacement since the start of the Syrian crisis in 2011.
