German Heart Foundation said that diabetes threatens heart health, as chronic high blood sugar causes heart failure, coronary heart disease, heart attacks and strokes.

The Foundation indicated that the symptoms of a heart attack are shortness of breath, severe chest pain, and cold sweat, while symptoms of a stroke are migraines, vision, speech, and balance disorders, in addition to general symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, and feeling sick.

The Foundation stressed the necessity to call the ambulance immediately after noticing these symptoms, given that each minute has its price.

To avoid these dire consequences, diabetics must control blood sugar through drug therapy and a healthy lifestyle based on healthy nutrition and continued exercise and motor activities.
