Nothing is going well between the two African neighbors. Somali ambassador to the UN, Abukar Dahir Osman, lost his temper against Kenya at a meeting of the Security Council on Thursday. According to him, Kenya "violates sovereignty" and "the unity of Somalia", a country which is ready to take "all necessary measures" to defend them.

Kenya "encroaches on Somalia border area"

For the diplomat, "Kenya continues to be a destabilizing force in Somalia". These interferences "undermine Somalia's sovereignty, its territorial integrity, its political independence and its unity," insisted Abukar Dahir Osman. In addition, the country "encroaches on the border area of Somalia, which undermines our stability," he continued.

This "represents a clear violation" of the Charter of the United Nations, the diplomat emphasizing that all its members must refrain from using the threat or the use of force against the political independence of any other state. "The government of Somalia strongly condemns these violations and will take all necessary measures to defend unity and sovereignty" of the country, he concluded without further details.
