In Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin ended a meeting of the Russian National Security Council on Idlib, where the Council considered that the escalation was behind "terrorists".

The Kremlin said in a statement that Turkish soldiers were killed in the areas of terrorist operations, stressing that Turkey had not implemented its obligations to prevent hostilities by "terrorists" in Idlib against Russian military installations.

Alton said that Erdogan will hold contacts today with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Alton also called on the international community to impose a no-fly zone in northern Syria.

Turkish-Russian meeting
In Ankara, the Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that the meetings between the Turkish and Russian delegations for the third day in a row, to discuss developments and ways to solve the crisis, ended after two hours of discussions.

The two delegations were led by Sadat Unal, Deputy Foreign Minister and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Verchinin, in the presence of experts from the Ministry of Defense, Staff, and Intelligence Service of the two countries.

Informed sources said that today's meeting was held at the request of Russia, adding that the Turkish delegation stressed the necessity of declaring an immediate and sustainable ceasefire in Idlib, northern Syria, and the withdrawal of the regime to the borders of the Sochi Agreement concluded in 2018 between Turkey and Russia.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman announced that the Russian delegation will leave Ankara, and that the meetings will not continue.
