Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte, who returns from a long knee injury, was forced out after just half an hour on Wednesday against Real Madrid, who apparently suffered another injury.

The Frenchman (25) came out in the 33rd minute limping, looking somber, and was replaced by Fernandinho.

Severely injured a knee in late August during a match against Brighton, Aymeric Laporte gradually returned to competition before this new blow.

He played 78 minutes against Sheffield United on January 21, before playing again only last Wednesday in a 2-0 win over West Ham, playing 65 minutes, then about an hour in Leicester (1-0) on Saturday.
