The Kuwaiti Ministry of Trade and Industry announced the closure of 14 new pharmacies that did not comply with the ministerial decision to determine the selling prices of medical respirators, after a number of citizens were infected with the new Corona virus.

The ministry said - in a press statement today, Wednesday, quoted by the Kuwait News Agency on its website - that the inspection teams of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector received 205 calls to the hotline, and the number of pharmacies closed for the same reasons has reached 19 pharmacies so far.

The number of Corona virus infections has risen to 25, according to the latest statistic reported by Kuwait News Agency today.

The Kuwaiti Council of Ministers announced the cancellation of all national holidays activities, the most important of which are marches taking place in the streets, as a result of the emergence of Corona. That was sold for 0.75 dinars.

The ministry added in its statement that the closure of these pharmacies came because it sells some medical supplies at artificial prices and does not comply with the ministry’s decisions, taking advantage of the current conditions with government precautions to prevent the emerging corona virus (Covid 19).

She pointed out that the closure was implemented under instructions from the Minister of Trade and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan, after pharmacies violated several laws, including a violation of the decision to set the prices of medical respirators.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Trade and Industry announced yesterday, Tuesday, the closure of five pharmacies for its failure to adhere to the ministerial decision regarding setting prices for selling medical masks.

Minister Al-Roudan issued a ministerial decision, based on a letter from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, regarding setting prices for the sale of medical respirators, whose prices range between 0.1 and 1.32 Kuwaiti dinars (the dinar equals 3.26 dollars).
