As it is specified, the wording “critical thinking” in the text in relation to the media implies, among other things, the development of the country's inhabitants' ability to distinguish reliable information from propaganda.

“The goal of the project is to develop critical thinking skills among Moldovans in relation to the media and social networks. Such skills include, among other things, the ability to distinguish information from propaganda, analyze the media and consciously interact with social networks, ”the text says.

Non-profit / non-governmental organizations are invited to participate in the tender to increase the media literacy of the population of Moldova. The project is expected to be allocated $ 75 thousand.

“Applications aimed at assisting Moldovan citizens in identifying and screening misinformation regarding election campaigns and 2020 elections are welcome,” the text says.

It is emphasized that the target group of the project is the population of Moldova as a whole, including the Romanian and Russian-speaking residents of the country.

Earlier, the US State Department announced the acceptance of grant applications for the organization of training of “opinion leaders” in the field of digital media in Ukraine. It is planned to allocate $ 250 thousand for the implementation of the project.
