“In this form, Zelensky’s national idea is not destined to come true. In fact, the Ukrainian state and the Kiev authorities have always considered Crimea to be some kind of alien region, ”said Kozenko.

He emphasized that Zelensky and his entourage should understand that it does not depend on their desire “whether or not a flag will fly here”, but, first of all, on the desire of Crimeans.

“We made our choice, therefore, the fact that they are trying to organize some holidays there today, contrary to the will of the Crimeans, that they are trying to call our annexation with Russia“ annexation ”, is, frankly, not from a great mind,” - the deputy added.

According to Kozenko, the Ukrainian authorities should make ideas related to their country with national ideas.

Earlier, Zelensky, speaking at the Age of Crimea 2020 forum, said that the "return" of Crimea is part of the national idea of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian leader also noted that he will sign a decree on the celebration of the "Day of resistance to the occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol," which will be celebrated annually on February 26.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014, in which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
