- Finally! The need for new premises for psychiatry in Västervik is very large, in fact the greatest in the whole county. We have therefore been anxious to get a construction started as soon as possible. Now we are giving the go-ahead to start from the political level. This is an important message for both the staff and the patients, says Angelica Katsanidou (S), chair of the regional board in a press release.
The goal is to start construction in late 2021 or early 2022, and the investment is estimated to cost Region Kalmar County SEK 1,260 million.
The new construction will provide facilities for full-day care and outpatient care in adult psychiatry. Then the Tjustskolan will also be rebuilt for child and adolescent psychiatry, BUP outpatient care and ABC.
