A woman has been detained in the Asturian municipality of Mieres and subsequently transferred to the Penitentiary Center of Asturias for allegedly mistreating her baby, only five months old, police sources confirmed to Europa Press.
The event took place last week, but has not transpired until this Monday. The baby had to be transferred to the Central University Hospital of Asturias , in Oviedo , given the severity of the injuries. The mother was arrested with her partner and with her sister, who were subsequently released.
According to information published on Monday by the regional newspaper El Comercio , the child would be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Pediatrics area of (HUCA).
