The humorist from Lille Habib. - Habib

  • Habib, a Lille humorist, went on stage during the performance of Roman Frayssinet.
  • He got a standing ovation after five minutes of an impromptu show.
  • Last October, he launched the Loko comedy club, in the cellar of a Lille bar.

Go on, on a misunderstanding it can work. Friday evening, Roman Frayssinet was performing at the Sébastopol theater in Lille. For fans of the one who also keeps a column in the Mouloud Achour show on Canal +, "Clique", the 35 euros for the place were made profitable with three comedians for the price of one. Except that the third, Habib, was not at all planned in the program.

Has a Roman Frayssinet stand-up already taken place "normally"? Maybe, but it wasn't really the case last Friday in Lille. To the delight of the 1,300 spectators at the Sébastopol theater, the comedian's show went completely live. After pouring down a cold beer under the encouragement of the public, Roman Frayssinet invited Habib on stage. "There was nothing planned, I just wanted him to advertise me for a comedian competition in which I participate", explains this young Lille who launches into stand-up.

"I hadn't prepared anything. So, I improvised "

And instead of deflating or being overwhelmed by paralyzing stage fright, Habib took over the scene with an ease which he himself is still surprised today: "I had prepared nothing. Suddenly, I improvised by chaining valves that I had written, "he continues. His pellet was also rewarded by the ovation of an audience ten times more numerous than that of the rooms where it usually occurs.

Less than a year ago, Habib was still working in marketing for a large ready-to-wear brand. But his childhood dream was to burn the boards. "I had the trigger when I realized that I did not want to wake up one day, at 70, regretting that I had not tried to realize this dream," he explains. And as the guy is determined and pragmatic, he did it right. “I first studied the stand-up world, its codes. There are a lot of comedians who try their luck, that's why I want to stand out in my writing, a bit like a novel, ”says Habib.

In order not to be dependent on the vagaries of the programming of open stages, the Lille has set up its own "comedy club". “I made all the cellars of the bars of Old Lille until I found the rare pearl, that of Zango. The boss was very excited by the project so it went very quickly, ”recalls Habib. Since last October, every Thursday evening, the Loko comedy club has hosted comedians from all over France. Habib, he regularly tests the new valves he writes for an upcoming show. "This experience with Roman Frayssinet comforted me on this path and made me want to go even faster," says Habib. If he is confident, the Lille nonetheless keeps his head on his shoulders: "at worst, I still have my bac + 5 in marketing", he jokes.
