A man was wounded by gunshots, from Monday to Tuesday, in the Chemin Bas d'Avignon district of Nîmes, in the Gard region.
Eric Maurel, the public prosecutor of Nîmes, who evokes an "assassination attempt", specifies that about fifteen shots were fired.
An ongoing investigation
The victim, slightly injured, was hospitalized. An investigation was entrusted to the police of the SRPJ of Montpellier, to try to determine the circumstances of these shootings.
For several months, shootings have multiplied in sensitive areas of Nîmes, mainly against the backdrop of drug trafficking. On Friday in Pissevin, where Kalashnikov gunfire has broken out in recent weeks, a demonstration took place: residents called on the authorities to act to restore "republican order".
