Farmers "are afraid" of Emmanuel Macron's policy towards them and fear that the president "does not have the courage or the will to defend the level of subsidies" of the common agricultural policy (CAP), said Tuesday Marine Le Pen.

Macron "had better delay his entry into the presidential campaign a bit because what farmers are afraid of today is his own politics," said the president of the National Gathering during a visit to Paris Agricultural Show.

Farmers fear in particular that the French president "does not have the courage or the will to defend the level of subsidies and cannot prevent the massive reduction (of the budget) of the CAP for the benefit of other policies (like) the Green deal, migrants ... ", added the far-right leader, between selfies and visits to the various stands, lingering for a long time at those in the Overseas Territories, which had largely placed the RN in the lead in the European elections.

The head of state returned Friday from Brussels - where the EU budget for 2021-2027 was being negotiated - without agreement on maintaining the envelope of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) which he made his priority, the 27 countries of the Union could not agree.

"Farmers are passionate but unfortunately they feel that the government has given up on them", denounced Ms. Le Pen, who wants to "get agriculture out of free trade agreements" because "food, c 'is a special good ".

Marine Le Pen also "judged very harshly the lie that was made to farmers on the level of their retirement", after Emmanuel Macron judged on Saturday that it was "impossible" to revalue the current retirement pensions of farmers to 85 % of the minimum wage.

A seller of gazelle horns made in France offers his products to Marine Le Pen: "thank you for tasting it and thank you for promoting diversity in France, that's what you like, isn't it?". "Diversity? (...) What I like is French employment," replied the head of the RN.
