End of season for a triathlete pushed to the ground by a pedestrian after an altercation, reports Est Républicain. The cyclist is seriously injured in the elbow and will not be able to insure the 2020 season. Anatole Giraud-Telme, triathlete who has already been selected for the French team, was taken to the emergency room and was prescribed 45 days of ITT.
The facts occurred during an altercation with a group of walkers south of Besançon. The athlete and seven other cyclists were returning from training with young people using a "cycle route" when they encountered the walkers. Following a dispute over the sharing of the lane, one of the pedestrians would have pushed him causing his fall. The triathlete filed a complaint and the Besançon triathlon club issued a call to witnesses hoping that the perpetrator or one of his escorts will make himself known.
