The Ministry of Education revealed that the National Championship of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics is witnessing, in its current version, the creation of new competitions that include the first global competition for robot FTC field, the global FWT drone competition, the global HGP competition for cars and the exploration competition for the kindergarten stage, which is the first of its kind In the world, noting that the tournament puts UAE students on the threshold of globalization, and gives them the opportunity to participate in international tournaments specialized in artificial intelligence and robot, as the national tournament applies the legislation, laws and requirements of international tournaments.

In detail, yesterday, for the second day in a row, the sixth edition of the championship of the Artificial Intelligence and Robot Competitions Series, organized by the Ministry of Education, from February 23 to 25 this month, continued at the exhibition grounds in Abu Dhabi, amid a competitive atmosphere witnessed by the championship in its various categories of 28 Class, and 1789 students from various state and private schools participate in it.

The Minister of Education, Hussein Al Hammadi, said in a press statement: “The current, sixth edition of the series of artificial intelligence and robot competitions was launched with the participation of 7144 contestants from various educational levels in state schools. It qualified for the National Championship 1789 competitors, and in a simple comparison with the previous session, the number of students increased 23%, they compete in 28 categories to qualify for the membership of the national robot team, which will compete in 10 international and four other regional competitions.

He added: "The lifting of motivation, which leads our students to creativity and empowerment in the areas of: science and technology, mathematics and engineering, and other advanced sciences, is one of the things that we seek to achieve, through the national championship of the series of competitions artificial intelligence and robot."

He continued: «We are working to raise the international competitiveness of our students, as the scene has become promising for good, especially after these competitions in its previous sessions produced a pioneering generation, through our foreign participation we were able to obtain advanced global results and first places in international competitions that target this field», Pointing out that the Ministry is keen on presenting a pioneering model to society, through the opportunities we provide for learning for students in order to be acquainted with their creativity, and the innovative works they have reached, which is thus what encourages society to adopt this approach to become a way of life.

For his part, the Director of the Student Skills Development Department at the Ministry of Education, Eng. Khalfan Juma Al-Haj Al-Murshidah, said: “The second day of the tournament witnesses the continuation of competitions as new teams enter the competitions, in addition to two special competitions held for the first time, which include a special competition for kindergarten children from the age of four Up to six years, where a special competition was organized for them to consolidate the idea of ​​robots and technology in their minds from a young age, in addition to a special competition for universities held for the first time in the tournament and four government and private universities in the country will participate, and one of these teams will qualify to represent the Emirates in the country Of the global artificial intelligence and robotics, which will be held in the United States ».

Al-Marashda explained that the national championship held today will witness the escalation of the top 20 teams to represent the UAE in the world championship to be held in Kentucky, which includes four categories of competitions: the first for university students, the second category for the second education, and the two IQ classes for the preparatory and elementary students, and participates 17 kindergartens, 260 government schools make up 94% of the schools participating in the championship, and 28 private schools that make up 6% of the participants, while the percentage of participating citizen students is 90% of the total number of students, pointing out that the most participating female students in the championship is 65%.

The National Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Championship witnessed the participation of dozens of school teams, in designing and building sustainable models for solar powered homes, characterized by cost-efficiency and energy consumption, with a focus on preserving the environment, and taking into account the climatic conditions of the region, reflecting the Emirati school’s awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability in Striking a balance between development and the environment, to preserve the right of future generations to enjoy a clean, healthy and safe environment, and its belief in the importance of investing in innovation that the Emirates places on its priority list.

The students of Hind Bint Maktoum School of Basic Education reviewed their project, which they called the sustainable city of Zayed, indicating that their innovative city depends on creating a city that simulates the future, reduces carbon emissions, and solves problems in smart ways, such as power generation and support of people of determination, roads and transportation, and reducing Waste water, and recycle waste.
