Coronavirus kills 12 in Iran

The Iranian Ministry of Health has announced that four new cases of the new coronavirus have died, leaving a total of 12 deaths in Iran. Iran has the highest number of deaths outside of China, raising concerns about the spread of the disease.

A senior official from the Ministry of Health of Iran said at a news conference on April 24 that the number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus was 61, up 18 more than the previous day.

Of these, four have died, with a total of 12 killed, with Iran having the highest number of deaths excluding China.

In Iran, the infection is spreading mainly in Central Kom Province, south of the capital Tehran, and there are about 900 people suspected of being infected throughout Iran.

The Iranian government has been forced to respond by closing schools and closing cinemas where many people gather.

However, infections from Iran have been confirmed one after another in Gulf countries and neighboring countries such as Afghanistan, and concerns about the spread of infection not only in Iran but also across borders are increasing.
