A man dived by car in the port of Mèze, in Hérault, this Sunday morning, indicate the firefighters, who intervened around 6:30 am on the scene of the accident.

According to information provided by the Departmental Rescue and Fire Service, the car of this man, aged around 40, had hit a lamp post before falling into the port. When the emergency services arrived, the driver, unharmed, had left his vehicle on his own and was then able to return to shore.

Transported to hospital

The victim was nevertheless transported to the hospital for monitoring radios.

Pollution control specialists were dispatched to the site to neutralize the oil slick which escaped from the vehicle's tank, note the firefighters.
