Today, many principals believe that the focus is on the administrative tasks rather than meeting the students.

During Friday, Ingegärd Salmose, 1st Deputy Chairman of the Teachers' Association's School Leader, visited Jönköping and the focus was then on how to bring back the educational work for the school's principals.

- A principal cannot be a spider in the net and have control over everything - there must be support, she says.

Hard to recruit

Today, the Teachers' Union sees a sharp reduction in application pressure for new principal services that are announced, and that more people do not remain on their positions as principal.

Rosemarie Segersson is the chair of the local department and also the headmaster of Öxnehagaskolan and she looks with concern at the latest developments. She believes that Jönköping has previously been relatively spared when it comes to difficulties in recruiting new principals.

- But now we find it difficult to recruit here, unfortunately, says Rosemarie Segersson.
