Just before 01 o'clock, the police received a call about a fight in central Uppsala. The victim is said to have fainted, but must have been awake and talkable when police arrived at the scene.
The man, who, among other things, must have been abused with some form of affection, is taken to hospital.
Another two people who passed the site were subjected to abuse. None of these, according to the police, needed to be taken to hospital.
A preliminary investigation into serious abuse has been initiated and the police have held interrogations.
At 04 no one was arrested or suspected of the crime.
