Judoka Sarah Léonie Cysique took second place in the Düsseldorf tournament on Friday, and scored points in the race for Olympic qualification in less than 57 kg, a very dense category within the French team.

In the German final, Cysique was beaten by Canada's Jessica Klimkait, world N.4. The young Frenchwoman (21) confirms her good form at the moment, after her 5th place in Paris two weeks ago.

In her category (-57 kg), she competes with Hélène Receeaux, bronze medalist at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest, and Priscilla Gneto, both of whom have been falling behind in recent times.

Five months before the Tokyo Olympics (July 24-August 9), Amandine Buchard (-52 kg) rose to the final in Düsseldorf, beaten by the Japanese Uta Abe, double defending of the world title at only 19 years old.

Buchard had given up on the prestigious Paris tournament two weeks ago due to an eye injury. She was the first to beat Uta Abe in nearly three years in the final of the Osaka tournament in late November.

In less than 48 kg, the Frenchwoman Shirine Boukli won in Düsseldorf by beating the 2019 world vice-champion, the Japanese Funa Tonaki. In this category, the French ticket for Tokyo-2020 should come back except for surprise to Mélanie Clément, 5th in the Worlds-2019 and 3rd in Paris two weeks ago.
