In Strasbourg, a 21-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison for attempted rape of a woman. The facts took place during the night of July 4 to 5, 2019, at the Les Halles shopping center.
The victim was returning from evening around 2:30 am when the young man approached her to offer him sex in an alley, report the Latest News from Alsace. When she refused, he followed her and beat her before hitting her head against the asphalt.
In his defense, the accused highlighted his heavy consumption of alcohol. He returned to prison at the end of the hearing, where he had been temporarily detained since July 5, said the regional daily.
